Ask anyone what kind of air conditioner is best suited for your home and you are most likely to hear, "no matter what, you must get an inverter AC!" Well, they have a point. Be it a 1.5-ton inverter AC, a 2-ton inverter AC or any other split AC, inverter technology is one that you cannot beat.
Air conditioners have a main unit known as the compressor. It is the mechanism responsible for cooling and expelling the refrigerant that produces the cool air you experience. Now, an inverter AC is an air conditioning system where the compressor used is an inverter compressor that regulates the flow of the refrigerant by changing its speed when the demand fluctuates.
Simply put, regular compressors in ACs produce the cooling gas at a set speed that can only change when the motor is completely turned off and switched back on. This means that every time there is a change in temperature setting, there is massive power consumption. However, inverter ACs have the capability to keep their compressor always switched on and can change speeds without shutting down. Thus, they are far more energy efficient.
Based on the cooling area, most specialists will recommend either a 1.5-ton inverter AC or even a 2-ton inverter AC if the cooling area is quite large. Here is why:
